HOW TO REACH YOUR FITNESS GOALS?

People ask me all the time How can I stay on track with my fitness goals? I'd have to admit that this is not easy at all, and it requires a lot of hard work and sacrifices. The first step to accomplish a goal is to define that goal. So let me ask you What is your goal?
What is your goal?
When answering this question you have to be very descriptive. A vague description equals vague results. Let's work on defining this goal first so that we can accomplish it next. When setting your goal, ask yourself What, Why, How, When, Who:
What exactly are you looking to achieve?
Look deep into your soul and find the answer of what it is you want to accomplish (i.e. ).
Why do you want to achieve this?
Ask yourself what are the motivation factors that are motivating you to pursue this goal. This is going to be your fuel to continue the journey. Make a list of these factors and place it somewhere you pass by everyday.
How are you going to achieve it?
Describe all the channels you are planning to use to attain this goal. Consider channels such as: materials, budgeting, healthy food, cellphone apps to keep you on track, personal training services, nutrition services, gym equipment, etc. Choose the most accessible channel available to you, and start with that.
When will you accomplish this goal?
Set a SPECIFIC date of completion. Don't give a range, it has to be an exact date. Also, make small short term goals that will help you to achieve your long term overall goal.
Who is going to hold you accountable?
You need to have someone to answer to. Find someone who is willing to support you on this journey and motivate you to keep fighting even when life gets complicated. It can be as simple as sending a friend a text and not expecting a response but only to communicate your challenges or wins with somebody else other than yourself.
Just like the saying: "It takes a village to raise a kid", think about "It takes a village to reach a goal". You can't reach a goal alone, communicating is key.
Now go achieve
When answering all those questions make sure to be descriptive and truthful to your desires. Motivation is a very tricky feeling. Motivation can last for seconds or for a season, for that reason the true key of success is DISCIPLINE.
Discipline will allow you to continue pursuing your goals even when motivation is long gone.
Make sure to develop the discipline to keep doing what you need to do to reach your dreams even when you don't feel like doing so.
Once you have completely defined your goal then it is time to start working to make it come true. Remember you are never alone, there will always be someone there to help you go through good and bad times, sometimes all you need to do is to ask.
