Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from an initial consultation?

The initial consultation is an opportunity for the team of exercise physiologists to analyze the overall movement of a person. Based on our initial testing we can understand the preferred movement strategies or dysfunctions of a person and create a plan of action to build symmetry, performance, and fitness.

How is Fitness Beyond Training different from other fitness facilities?

We take a systematic approach to fitness.  We look at the totality of your movement in order to provide the best avenue for you to get back to fitness. We use your fitness data to continue to progress you in all facets of fitness, health and nutrition.

What is an Exercise Physiologist?

Exercise physiologists are allied health professionals dedicated to performance training. We take training a step further by looking at your foundation of movement, influencing improved function and challenging abilities.  We determine your weaknesses to develop your strengths.

How long will it take to achieve my goals/see results?

Each person has a different timeline based on findings in your initial consultation. Everybody has different needs that require an approach unique to them. However, most people start noticing positive changes in strength and stamina within two weeks of training with us.

What is involved in a typical training session?

During the 55 min training session, our team will assess your progress and take you to the next step to develop your system.  Depending on your abilities, we'll use everything from Olympic exercises for optimal strength and power to conditioning with very little equipment, maximizing stability, control, and skill.

What fitness equipment will I need at home?

Each person is going to need different equipment depending on their goals, sports, activity levels. Our team is very creative in choosing exercises that you can do at home whether you have a full gym or just a few weights/bands. We do not require any of our clients to purchase equipment but we are happy to guide you.  We love to use the Gray Cook/FMT bands (www.performbetter.com/Gray-Cook-Band) in the studio as they are very versatile and easy to store.
